Our Staff

Our staff are the main reason we can offer the high level of service we provide. They are the ones responsible for nurturing and guiding your child through their time at Little Maples.

We therefore, employ dedicated and caring staff. All staff certificates are displayed outside their rooms. Our staff/child ratio is in accordance with the Childcare Pre-school Regulations 2006.

It is the policy of Little Maples Crèche and Montessori School Childcare to recruit trained or experience staff. Recruitment procedures are fair and transparent and comply with relevant employment legislation.

All staff must have cleared written references [at least two] and if possible have a Garda Check. Recent developments within the childcare sector now enable us carry out this process in a more efficient manner through the NCNA, of which we are members.

Some words from our staff

Leah, a mother of a seven year old boy has been part of the Little Maples team for the past four years now “I am currently a Montessori room assistant and love learning all about the Montessori method. I really enjoy having the opportunity to help the children in all aspects of their development”

Rachael originally joined in 2013. “I went travelling for two years and when I returned I was so happy to get my old job back, I have always been interested in working with children and I love having the fun and the crack with them”

Abbie is only new to Little Maples, joining in May 2016, she is a mother to a 4 year old girl, and is currently an assistant in the Baby room. “I love to provide the support and assistance to the babies, that enables them reach their milestones between 6 months and 1.5 years.”

Ada’s Story …
“My name is Ada I am mother of 9 years old Amelia. When Amelia was 2 I enrolled her in Little Maples She loved it from the first minute and I was curious what is so magical in this place that my daughter was so excited about. I really wanted to see it and be part of it. I took a 3 month work placement, with Lynn and Glenda as part of my training. Happily, the crèche really liked my work and enthusiasm and I was offered a full-time job. It was in 2011, I am still working in the same place for more than 6 years. I believe that every child is different and has different needs. I am trying to put my whole knowledge to help children develop but also, I believe that through my work with them they teach me even more.

I think the children have the biggest influence on me, with each new child coming to our crèche I gain more experience but also have to change and adapt my learning programmes to child’s needs. It is so important to encourage the children to express themselves through art and play, and allow them feel good and free to explore.”
